She Built Books

The House. The Book. The Movement.

In 2021, a group of women came together from around the country to imagine, design and build a one-of-a-kind home. In a world where women make up just 11% of the total building and construction industry and 3% of skilled trade roles, that home was truly unique - but we don’t think it has to be in the future.

She Built Foundation is thrilled to make this story accessible and free for students and nonprofits in order to educate young readers about the people and skills that go into building a home. Inspired by the original house and the children’s book it inspired, we want to empower every kid to see themselves as a builder by having access to content and curriculum that unlocks a universe of skills and careers.
